About Patty Richards:

Picture
Patty has always had a design eye.  Formerly as a Landscape Architect, planning the outside “canvas” and more recently, as a 2 dimensional artist arranging bits of paper, pigments or found objects for fun and reflection.  She says “the medium doesn’t matter”.

In 2012 she co-opened Gallery 15, located in Irvington, Virginia.   As an owner and operator she found herself inspired by the artists who exhibited at the gallery and the patrons who shared their enthusiasm.  She picked up her own watercolor paintbrush again in 2013 after many years, and has been painting and discovering ever since.

In April 2016 she opened Patty Richards Art, a studio in Kilmarnock, Virginia.  Now painting on canvases and walls (murals) too, her new location gives her plenty of room to work large when the  mood strikes.  “The new studio provides me with much more room to experiment in various media and many projects all at once”.

Patty has received awards from the Virginia Watercolor Society, Rappahannock Art League and Mathews Bay School.

Patty can be commissioned to paint portraits of your pets and people as well as custom non-representational pieces for your home and business in acrylic.  Hours of operation are by appointment, and whenever you find her at the studio!  Original works as well as prints of her paintings are available for sale.  Patty Richards Art at 24 W. Church St., carries a small inventory of MAMA-Girl works and natural liquid soaps are “on tap” at the Soap Bar!
